In the past 20 years, nearly 7,000 undocumented immigrants have died on the U.S.-Mexico border, including nearly 3,000 in Arizona’s Sonoran Desert. Professor Brad Jones will share his experiences in providing humanitarian efforts on the border as well as discuss the migrant death crisis more generally in the context of U.S. immigration policy. This forum is open to the public.
Professor Bradford (Brad) Jones
Political Science, UC Davis
Dr. Jones is a Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Davis and researches Latina/o politics, immigration, and border issues. Dr. Jones has been quoted in the New York Times, Washington Post, and others on immigration issues. He maintains water stations in the Organ Pipe National Monument in the Sonoran Desert for the humanitarian organization Humane Borders.
