The conference addresses gender differences in migration decisions and their consequences for origin, and destination countries as well as the role of gender in family migration. We seek to bring together junior and senior researchers who focus on different theoretical and empirical aspects of gender- and family-specific migration from economics and related social sciences. The conference will offer networking opportunities as well as a forum to discuss current research, new perspectives and potential research collaborations.
We welcome papers addressing any topic in gender- and family-specific migration issues, such as:
- Economics of family migration
- Gender differences in determinants of migration
- Gender-specific selection patterns
- Consequences of migration for originor destination countries
- Migration and fertility
