Call for Papers for the Inter-Disciplinary Conference on Migration at Yale

The South Asian Studies Council, the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, and the Departments of Anthropology, Economics, History, and Political Science at Yale University are pleased to announce a call for papers for an Interdisciplinary Conference on Migration in South Asia. The conference will convene at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut on October 26th and 27th, 2018.

We invite submissions on any topic that is of relevance to understanding migration in South Asia, even if the research is not directly on the region. Submissions could cover themes such as Forced migration, Migration and family, Diaspora, The infrastructure of movement and settlement, Law, bureaucracy, and the state, Migration within South Asia, or Migration as freedom/ the promise and perils of migration.

Submission details: The deadline for submissions is August 1, 2018. Only full papers in PDF form will be accepted. The cover page should include:

  • Paper title
  • Authors
  • Institution of applicant
  • Address, phone number, and email of the applicant
  • Abstract
