Kevin Johnson comments on California Dreamers hope towards Court's order to reopen DACA for new applicants featured in KQED

There are estimated 180,000 people living in California who could benefit from U.S. District Judge John D. Bates' ruling that the government reopen DACA to new applicants. The U.S. Department of Justice plans to keep fighting to phase out DACA because the program is unlawful. 

The issue is expected to head towards the highest court, according to legal experts. Kevin comments that "This is an important issue that the Supreme Court is likely going to want to weigh in on."
