Migration research culster

Erin Hamilton presented research on U.S.-born children in Mexico in the Population Association of America’s annual conference

Migration, racial or ethnic self-identity, and marriage were among the many topics explored at the Population Association of America’s annual meeting in Denver last month. The meeting, the largest demography conference in the United States, provided a forum for researchers to present their work at more than 250 sessions.

Erin Hamilton's research focused on how over the past decade, migration from south to north i.e. from Mexico to the United States has been reversed. In the analysis presented at the PAA conference, researchers used Mexican census and survey data to provide a demographic portrait of the estimated half a million U.S.-born children who have moved to Mexico between 2000 and 2015.
