Diane Charlton and Ed Taylor Win AAEA Quality of Research Discovery Award
Diane Charlton and Ed Taylor won the Quality of Research Discovery Award, Honorable Mention, for "A Declining Farm Workforce: Analysis of Panel Data from Rural Mexico" at the 2017 AAEA (Agricultural and Applied Economics Association) Annual Meeting.
The study found that the agricultural labor supply from rural Mexico, the main source of hired farmworkers for the United States, is decreasing at a rate of approximately 150,000 workers per year.
